Frequently Asked Questions

What Would It Be Like To Work Together?

Do you offer in-person therapy?

No. I offer online telehealth sessions through secure, HIPAA-compliant platforms including Zoom and Doxy.m.

Do you specialize in working with a particular population?

I specialize in working with women, religious trauma and harm, LGBTQIA+ population, young adults (18-25ish), relationship issues, depth work, and grief. I particularly enjoy helping women examine the impact of sociocultural norms and expectations on their lived experience (e.g., to not take up physical, emotional, relational, or sexual space).

I do not work with adolescents.

What therapeutic modalities do you use?

I draw from relational psychodynamic, emotion-focused, intersectional feminist, and trauma-informed therapies to meet the specific needs of each client. What this boils down to is an exploration of your relationships (including ours), emotions, unique sociocultural context, and how this culminates in your lived experience with curiosity and compassion.

I am also an EMDR trained therapist and recevied training through the EMDR Institute, which was founded by Francine Shapiro, the creator of EMDR. The institute is distinguished by its quality of training and adherence to Dr. Shapiro’s original model for EMDR, which has been widely researched and is a very effective treatment for trauma.

What if I need to reschedule?

At times I will have the availability to reschedule a session you are cancelling within 24 hours to another time within the same work week (Tuesday-Friday). I provide this option as a courtesy when I can, and if I do not have the availability to reschedule by the end of the same week (and your request comes in less than 24 hours before our session time), you are responsible for the full fee.

    $265 (60 mins)

I will provide a Good Faith Esimate throughout treatment and upon request. For more information about your rights under the No Surprises Act, click here.

Do you take insurance?

I am in-network with Aetna.

I can also support you in getting reimbursement from your insurance company if you are seeking out-of-network reimbursement by providing you with a superbill. If you’d like to go this route, I highly recommend referencing this step-by-step guide to out-of-network benefits.

I think it is also useful to consider some of the benefits of seeing someone out-of-network.

Do you provide sliding scale?

It has always been a part of my mission to make therapy accessible, while also valuing my own services and needs. This fits with my relational and social justice-oriented approach. And it is why I dedicate a portion of my caseload to sliding scale clients, The sliding scale fee is based on a conversation we have about your current financial needs, and is renegotiated as life and treatment circumstances change. Priority is given to individuals from marginalized populations. If you’re interested in this option, please don’t hesitate to reach out. Even if my sliding scale spots are full, I do my best to provide you with an appropriate referral.

How does payment work?

Fees are due at time of service. I provide secure and convenient online billing through my electronic health recordkeeping software. You will input your payment information when you complete your intake paperwork. I then set most folks up on autopay, which means the cost of session will be automatically billed at the end of the day of our sessions.

What is your cancellation fee?

I reserve your session time exclusively for you. If you need to cancel, please do so at least 24 hours before your appointment. All “no-shows” and sessions cancelled within 24 hours will be charged the full fee.
